Campbell Eckhardt - Divemaster
Campbell “Soup” has long been drawn to freshwater environments, a focus shaped by early experiences in the creeks and rivers of the Missouri Ozarks, and later reinforced through undergraduate research on how ecological conditions influence evolutionary patterns in salamanders. After moving to Florida, he trained with Toby Keith from Open Water through Divemaster to build the skills needed to work more directly within these systems. Since then, he has focused his diving on the springs and caverns of North Florida, where he is particularly interested exploring the hidden life these environments support. In addition to guiding dives, Campbell is an AAUS-certified scientific diver at the University of Florida and contributes to local springs conservation efforts through water quality testing and wildlife surveys with the Alachua County Environmental Protection Department and the Howard T. Odum Florida Springs Institute. Whether guiding divers, conducting research, or engaging in conservation work, he emphasizes safe, thoughtful diving grounded in ecological respect.
